There are so many great places to see in New Jersey, but living Central Jersey, I still have not explored the Northern-most parts of the state. I decided that it was time to take a trip up there so I could discover some new favorite places. We stayed at a hotel in Parsippany, NJ which was central to some of the locations we wanted to visit (stay tuned for forthcoming articles).
Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township, NJ was about 15 minutes from the hotel and the sun was shining, so we decided to head over there to view the gardens and walk a short trail (approximately 1.5 miles). They also have longer trails, if you are up for it!
The Frelinghuysen Arboretum frequently holds special events for all age groups. Recently, local children and their parents attended an event at the park where they could build fairy houses (pictured above) to decorate part of a small trail. Check out the calendar on their website to see upcoming events that may interest you.
I really enjoyed the walk here, it was scenic and peaceful. I would recommend the Frelinghuysen Arboretum for a date activity, family outing, or a nice place to meet with friends.
